Why donate?

Supporting Lilliput Children’s Services means you share our belief that all children need and deserve a family. By working together, we can make this happen.

The ultimate beneficiaries of your giving are the children. In California, over 50,000 children are adoptable and are waiting for a family. Donations help us to augment our existing programs, as well as expand services when necessary, thereby making sure that even more children have a family to call their own.

• Make a difference in the lives of foster, adopted and kinship children and their families throughout California.
• Lower the rate of foster youth who "age out" of the system and become adults (emancipation) without having a family to call their own. Together, we will improve the outcomes for these young adults.
• Support domestic special needs foster adoptions.
• Provide services for grandparents and other kin who are selflessly raising their grandchildren and other family members.
• Promote child welfare best practices.
• Lower your taxable income.

• Monetary contributions

  Lilliput is a careful steward of every dollar we receive in support of our work with children and families, as these dollars serve a vital role in helping us to transform the lives of those we serve. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today! We have a variety of ways of recognizing our donors well as in our annual report. Listed below are the many ways you can contribute. There are multiple ways to make a monetary contribution to Lilliput (e.g., check, credit card, bank note)
  
  
  • On-Line Credit Card: The easiest way to make a contribution is by clicking here to make an on-line donation using your credit card. 100% of your gift, when using Mastercard of Visa, will go to Lilliput as there are no credit card charges applied/taken in the processing of using these card types.
    
    
  • Mail: Check donations may be mailed into our main Sacramento office. Please click here for a Donation Form that should accompany check donations.
    
  • In Person (Check or Bank Note): Drop a check or money order donation off at any of our office locations. Include a copy of our Donation Form with your check or bank note.
    
  • Gift Matching: Increase the value of your gift by taking advantage of your employer’s matching gift program. Please contact your Human Resources department to inquire if this is offered through your employer.
    
    
  • United Way: Donate to Lilliput Children’s Services through your local United Way. This can be a one-time gift or on-going through payroll deductions. As a non-profit, Lilliput is eligible to receive the funds from any United Way region. We are a certified partner agency in the following California regions: California Capital Region, Bay Area, and Northern California.
    
    
  • Work Place Donation Drive: Organize a work place donation drive. One popular idea is to hold a “casual day drive” in which a monetary donation to Lilliput earns the donor a day of “dressing down." However, the options are limited only by your imagination – be creative!
    
    
  • Business Fundraising Programs: Use the same services or make the same purchases you would anyway – it’s as easy as that! By partnering with businesses, Lilliput benefits by getting a percentage back for referring you. Please click here for more information and our current fundraising partners.   • Donation Parties: Hold a donation party in lieu of a traditional birthday, anniversary celebration, wedding shower or baby shower. So many of us already feel blessed and would prefer to help others during these times of celebration. Typically, you would simply specify on the invitation that instead of giving a gift, your friends and family members may make a donation to Lilliput Children’s Services.
    
    
  • Planned Giving: Designate Lilliput Children’s Services in your estate plan. Contact your attorney or financial planner to learn more about this option. For more information, please contact our Executive Director at (916) 923-5444.
    
    

• In-Kind Gifts

   which are non-monetary donations, such as gift cards or other goods (i.e. toys, clothes or furniture) as well as professional services, fulfill many of our needs and are greatly appreciated. In-kind donations are tax-deductible, just like monetary contributions. If you'd like to donate in-kind gifts, please fill out a Donation Form to include with your gift. • Adoption or Foster Care is a choice that might be right for you and your family! To learn more about foster care and adoptions at a free monthly orientation session at the office location closest to you.
