Lilliput Achieved 100% Employee Giving to United Way!

Every year Lilliput runs an internal United Way campaign. For the 3RD YEAR IN A ROW we achieved 100% participation, meaning that every single Lilliput employee contributed to an organization they are passionate about!!!! The total contributions totaled nearly $11,000 with $7,200 coming back to Lilliput. We are so proud of our staff!

Karen Alvord received the 2011 Angel in Adoption AwardLilliput's Karen Alvord Awarded the 2011 Angel in Adoption Award in Washington D.C.!

Karen Alvord, Executive Director of Lilliput Children’s Services, was selected as a 2011 Angel in Adoption Award recipient by Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-Sacramento). Each year, members of Congress are given the opportunity to select individuals, families and organizations from their home state who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of children in need of permanent, loving homes. “Karen’s leadership and dedication has been instrumental in the advancement of child welfare practices, working toward ensuring children a secure and nurturing environment. She is truly one of Sacramento’s ‘angels,’ and we are extremely lucky to have her in our community,” said Congresswoman Matsui. Lilliput Receives 2011 Adoption Excellence Award!

Lilliput Childrens Services was awarded the 2011 Adoption Excellence AwardLilliput is so proud to have been selected to receive an Adoption Excellence Award from the Children's Bureau/U.S. Department of Health and Human Services! The Department honors those who have demonstrated excellence in providing stable, permanent homes for our nation’s children in foster care. Lilliput is being recognized for the development and implementation of strategies that have achieved a significant decrease in the average length of stay in foster care. Placer Community Foundation Grant

Placer Community Foundation provides grant for Lilliput to reach out to the faith based community to establish support groups and a resource guideLilliput was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Placer Community Foundation. We will be hiring a 10-hour/week Parent Partner to help us outreach and make connections within the local faith-based community, establish support groups and trainings and create a resource guide.



Lilliput Selected as a CFC Charity

CFC Combined Federal Campaign for Federal Employees Giving for PhilanthropyAfter a thorough application process that included meeting stringent standards and requirements, Lilliput Children's Services was selected as a CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) charity!

The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.



Soroptimist International Awards Lilliput a Mini-grant

Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Sacramento Mini-grant for Lilliput KinnectionsWe were awarded a $1,000 mini-grant from the Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Sacramento service club in order to purchase car seats for Kinnections families in need.



Walk 'N Rock for Kids

Walk N Rock for Kids, Join Our Walk Team at Lilliput Children ServicesLilliput Children’s Services is thrilled to about the results of the 3rd annual Walk 'N Rock for Kid. We successfully succeeded our goal and raised over $11,000 at Hope Productions Foundation’s Walk ‘N Rock for Kids on 5/29/11. These monies will support Sacramento County KSSP. Donations can be received through the end of July so if you still want to make a contribution, please do so!



Park Terrace Swim & Tennis Club

Park Terrace Swim and Tennis Club selected Lilliput Children's Services as their non-profit partnerPark Terrace Swim & Tennis Club, based in Sacramento, hosted this year’s USTA Men’s Pro Circuit event in June. We were so honored to be selected as their nonprofit partner.

Lilliput Selected as Hope Productions 2010-2011 Affiliate!

Lilliput vied with dozens of applicants and was selected to be one of the Hope Productions Foundation affiliates for the coming year. The Foundation works in the communities they serve to determine organizations and charities that—with a little extra help and resources—could take their efforts to the next level and achieve greater success. The selected charities will benefit from accessible and simplified online resources, networking opportunities and one-on-one business coaching as well as training in event management, fundraising, marketing and community outreach, all at no charge. Every year, the Nonprofit Resource Center honors excellence in nonprofit leadership at its Look of Success celebration. This event spotlights the “best of the best” in nonprofit leadership and the role of nonprofits in our region. This award recognizes a nonprofit executive director who exhibits outstanding leadership characteristics as demonstrated by the Nonprofit Resource Center’s founding executive director, Jan Stohr. $1.5 Million Federal Grant

Lilliput receives a $1.5 million federal grant to help hundreds of children in our communities. Lilliput will use this grant to help find and connect hundreds of foster care children with family members (kinship care) to help them find successful homes in which they can thrive instead of being passed around in the foster care system. Lilliput Honored at United Way "Thank You" Breakfast!

Lilliput was recognized with two awards at this yearly post-campaign event held by United Way California Capital Region. Lilliput received the "Red Shoe Award" for "meeting the challenge and achieving an increase of 20% or more in its 2009-2010 workplace giving campaign." We also received a "Star Award" for "Outstanding Agency Campaign" in recognition of our agency achieving 100% participation in our 2009-2010 work place giving campaign.

Sundt Foundation Grant

Thank you to the Sundt Foundation for a generous $5,000 grant which will provide financially challenged kinship families with payment assistance for comprehensive in-house clinical services.

Soroptimist Grant Awarded to Lilliput

Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Sacramento generously provided Lilliput’s Clinical Services program with a $1,000 grant. This funding will be used to purchase specialized therapeutic tools and supplies for the new clinical services room which is being established in the South Sacramento office.

Lilliput Social Worker Featured in The Observer!

Josephine Jones, one of Lilliput's social workers, who was featured in The Observer Newspapers as a special tribute to 30 regional young leaders, all under the age of 30, who are making significant contributions to the community. A tribute was held on Saturday, February 20th during this year’s Capital Black Expo held at the Convention Center to honor her and the other 29 community leaders. Click here to see the article.
