Lilliput Families is Northern California’s premier domestic Child Adoption, Kinship and Placement Organization, serving families from approximately 30 counties. Last year alone we successfully found lifelong homes for 760 deserving children.

Bilingual Parent Partner – Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Under the supervision of a Program Supervisor, the Parent Partner will assist with community outreach and recruitment of kinship families. In addition, the Parent Partner will; promote, assist and advocate in the connection of families to available resources for permanency for families and children, including legal resources, mental health education, respite care and counseling. Collaborate with the Case Manager, Social Worker, or other staff in the evaluation of families, the provision of services, and their progress. Facilitate the development of, and participate in, local advisory boards, support groups and other relevant community meetings. Coach/model appropriate communication, anger management, problem solving, stress management and/or parenting issues with caregivers. The successful candidate will effectively apply casework knowledge and skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, to engage and establish rapport with multi- and inter-generational families.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and navigation of community resources.
Must have ability to establish rapport with intergenerational and intercultural families, and to work effectively within the agency and the social services community at large.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Qualifications: Bilingual/Spanish required. At least two years of experience as a kin or adoptive caregiver, five years preferred. Strong community engagement, training or courses in psychology, sociology or communication are preferred. Two years of experience working with families and the community. Experience with Microsoft Outlook is preferred. Must meet all required health screening, drug testing, criminal record clearances. Must possess a valid California Driver License and insurance, and have an acceptable DMV record and their own, reliable transportation.
